As we have said in this thread, it's very difficult to find a nightcrawler at late game. There's a big element of luck. And that penalize player that missed it earlier. Now, nightcrawlers are very important to build potions and some gear. Potions change the game. So, we need to add some way to catch nightcrawler when most stones are depleted.
1- Most simple, nightcrawler spawn even when stone are depleted, at constant rate.
2- Very simple too, nightcrawler spawn near tree. Maybe with a inferior rate.
3- Add natural nightcrawler spawn at other location, either with or without new model to determine the location.
4- Earth scroll 75 gold at tavern : Create a earthquake that spawn a rock. Can damage enemy and stun them. Stone has 50% chance to have 5 drop 10% for 6, etc...
5- Add a building or a upgrade that spawn nightcrawler at night. No idea at the moment. But the building should need a ressource to spawn nightcrawler.

I prefer 1. 2 and 3 are ok too, but a little harder to balance, and 4 and 5 would completely change the game, which seems a little too much for just changing the amount of nightcrawlers lategame ^^

I don't think the 1st suggestion would be that good, it would make for a very "im so gosu i learned the position of every rock on the map" mechanic. But i agree there has to be a way.

Most of the ground under mineral deposits is textured differently, so it´s really easy to spot them.

I guess at that condition i don't really see any opposition to making nightcrawler spawn near depleted mineral deposits
