I feel like me and Octometaknight have posted one too many item suggestion threads, so I suggest that we keep all item suggestions to this thread so as not to spam the forum. I'll start with some of my old ideas
Sunburst staff
1 radient gems, 1 infused lumber, 1 lambent sunflower, celestial orb, no rain or snow, Artisan 20
+8 intelligence
+3 endurance
+4 willpower
-Guardian spirit cost reduced to 40, but will now sacrifice itself if any ally drops below 70% health, healing done when spirit sacrifices itself has been reduced to 50%
-Siphon life now heals all nearby allies by the same amount of yourself
-Increases life and energy regeneration by 1 the first 25 seconds of each day
The idea behind the sunburst staff is to create a more late game version of the celestial orb, which will allow witty kobolds to more frequently heal their team with guardian spirit, and adds a new more "aggressive" option of healing their team. Also it would have some cool text to it like:
"The night is far spent, cast off the vestments of darkness, put on your armor of light, and bring the fury of the golden sun upon thy enemies"
-High priestess Nyx to her disciples embarking upon a crusade
So I think the little kobolds in the forest need to pack a bit more...heat? (get it?)
Pyromancers mantle
2 radient gems, 2 lambent sunflower, leather coat, day or Hot summer, artisan 20
Armor slot
+2 dexterity
+4 willpower
+5 intelligence
Passive: Frost shield becomes fire cloak: Light yourself on fire, restoring warmth and scaring nearby wolves all enemies within a radius of 3 take damage over time
Passive: Your unstable concoctions light the ground on fire for a brief time, dealing damage to all within the target area for the duration of the fire
Passive: Gain +0.5 energy regen and 5 willpower when near a campfire
Active: Throw a fire totem to a nearby are that lasts for 45 seconds and functions like a normal campfire (cooldown 45 sec)
"Bring the flames of war. Steel yourself on the heat of battle. Forge your souls upon the anvil of combat, in the furnace of war"
-Ignis divinitatus, proclaimed as the first Kobold to master pyromancy
The idea behind this armor item, is to create armor that truly requires proper micro and positioning to use properly, fighting near campfires or fire totems to increase the potency of your spells, using unstable concoctions as a means of area denial, and making frost armor a bit more viable. Quite open to suggestions about this item, as I'm not convinced that it's entirely balanced.
And as another idea, a new quest! The polar opposite of the "winter is coming" quest.
An unnatural heatwave has befallen the forest, with the sun never setting. Beware of campfires that can quickly lead to hyperthermia for a poor kobold. Perhaps there is a correlation between the unnatural heat and the great bonfires, that have been lit in the forest.
So this quest revolves around the sun never setting for the duration of the quest. This means no wolves, no reduced sight, no chance of frostbite (except through abilities/item effects). Staying near campfires will slowly decrease health, much like how frostbite/hunger works to decrease health. This will present a difficulty for some kobolds, who rely much on their cooking skills, but some might take the chances of burning themselves a bit in return for cooking that sirloin.
Instead of spawning frost bears, this quest will spawn great bonfires, (much like the obelisks in veil of darkness, they are immobile). That must be sought out, and destroyed to end the heatwave. These bonfires are protected with arcane secrets, and will attempt to burn any nearby kobolds. Kobolds who are experienced in the arts of foraging, will have an easier time finding the bonfires, as they will emit smoke much like a normal campfire. Destroying a set amount of these bonfires however, will anger a great Bird of Fire, who will descend from the skies with the intent of setting the forest ablaze.
I have ideas for the bird of fire, its abilities, its stats, and how the bonfires will work. This will follow if I get some feedback on it. But right now I am thinking the bird of fire will drop a rogue/thief/assasin oriented item, much like how the doomhammer is a warrior based item, and the frost needle is a mage oriented item.
