Right now the tutorial does teach the basics. It teaches you about some of the basic buildings and generally how resource nodes work. However, i feel like there is a better alternative than the current tutorial we have. I feel like we should do one of two things. Either keep the current tutorial but add more to it. Perhaps add the first quest but keep it scripted. Like make it the murloc cheiftian but have him weaker and easier to kill and show the new player how quests work. Also explain spells and how the talent systems works because these are all things that are incentive to know immediately before coming into a game. The other option would be to not have the player play at all but instead have a step by step replay of a ai match. Showing all the things the current replay does plus what I would like to add. Pausing at the appropriate times to explain things would be necessary. In this tutorial all buildings should be looked at. Spells and talents explain and further more how fighting works. Explain high ground vs low ground. Show a 5 v 5 a fight for example. Right now the tutorial teaches a new player to build immediately where they are. Yet it teaches them nothing about the teamwork involved in being a tribe inside of each and every game. This is an issue because the new player base already has a hard enough time joining in. Veterans kill them pretty fast if the wolves do not and they are often clueless and asking plenty of questions that should've been addressed in a proper tutorial. Now of course build orders and other tactics will have to be taught by veterans or seen in replays but at least give them more of an understanding before hoping into a game. In my personal experience when a new player in on your team and he died he leaves a majority of the time after he died. This doesn't make it fair for the team with more new players then the other because a lot of veterans feel like its really only how many veterans they have vs how many veterans are on the other team. So if we increase the knowledge capacity given by the tutorial perhaps they will stay. Especially if the resurrection mechanic is taught to them in the tutorial. Because right now after watching through that tutorial again, i feel like they think they are dead permanently.

Personally, I would prefer the first alternative, because the second one (watching ai) sounds like it could be replaced by youtube tutorials instead. I assume that programming the tutorial takes quite some time, which probably is the only reason why it isn´t done yet, but I think it´d be worth the work. Kobold tribes really isn´t the easiest game for new players, so a decent tutorial would help them immensely.

I agree extending upon the current tutorial is probably easier but we need to do something no matter what. The learning curve is intense. Once you get it its one of the greatest things. But getting it is the key. Right now most new players don't get it and we need to change that. We need to expand our community and the amount of members and this is one of the ways we should do it.

I completely agree with the problem of newbie vs veteran. I don't think improving Tutorial is the only way to help new players. A lot of players will never play the tutorial. Yes, it's a shame, but when trying a new arcade mode, you rarely start by the tutorial. So something need to be done before. Tutorial Quest: Grandma KoboldA quest always present at the beginning. You need to help grandma with some task. One grandma is present for each team. Each task allows a new players to understand something about the game. Veterans will often prefer do their stuff on their own. But it give a opportunity for newbie player. - First you need to gather resource, either a lumber, a stone or a berry. Two resource by player. Grandma will give gold and experience for each resource only to the player.
- Second, you need to build a campfire, a tent and a farm for grandma. Grandma will give experience for each building to all players.
- Third, you need to cook for grandma. A dish by player. Grandma will give experience only to the player.
- And last, Grandma will build a Grandma Workbench. This workbench only allows to craft Knit Glove. Grandma will give a bonus experience for every player that craft a Knit Glove.
If all step are accomplished, Grandma will left and her workbench will become a normal workbench. Knit GloveOff hand, 1 Wool +2 Strength +2 Endurance -2 Dexterity Passive: Increases cold resistance by 10%. Passive: Reduce damage of wolf by 10%.

This is not the answer. This isn't the time to make some new item as much as your attempt is appreciated. If you make the first quest of the game a set quest then it changes how it all works. The whole point of the game is that the first quest is random. This is what the quest already does mostly. you have a few new things in there but this doesn't expand upon the current tutorial to the degree that it needs to be at.
