Use of Kobold Tribes for personal project permission?

Hello! I am known by Denue on starcraft 2, and I was wondering if I would be allowed to use Kobold Tribes to see how you guys set up your crafting system and food/energy/health system. I was working on a similar project of making a map themed around Minecraft, however after playing Kobold Tribes, I fell in love with the way you do it and how it fits perfectly what I need done. I plan on simply seeing how you do it, maybe using some features of it, however, no matter how I do it, I will give credit to whoever it belongs to (both the updater and the original creator). I am just wondering if I would be allowed and how I would go about doing it. Thank you for your time!
