I've always loved the idea of this item, it's fun to use, it has a trollish passive, and it is one of the only mele items that chances against its ranged counterparts. There is only one problem!!!!! There is no good synergy!!!!
I am going to bring this up in almost every thread regarding mele items: ever since the javelin got nerfed, the wolfsbane is even more neglected than it was before. The burning savage and the iron studded vest are the only two items that even remotely syngergize with the wolfsbane considering their cold resistance(lantern and torch always get trade kited). I would never even using the burning savage because ***as i mentioned before*** there is no point when you need to repair it every 4 throws, you'll either be turned on or the enemy will get out of vision with cloak. The burning savage is also way out of the time window for a bane rush. I'm hoping soon we have some items added that synergize well with the wolfsbane
I'll be making some suggestions soon but i'd also like to see some from other people

Javelin and Savage will be reverted back to javelin's old mechanic (no repair necessary), with the slight difference that the cooldown of them is now slightly based on attack speed, which you could say is a synergy with wolfsbane. Another "synergy" (even though I'm not sure if it's really a viable build) is Wolfsbane, Bear Shaman's and Skull, because the bear shaman's WIL scaling with attack damage got buffed, and since wb has the highest STR value of all items in the game, that means you will get up to 12 WIL from Bear Shaman's passive and with the skull, it means you have insane damage with a very high attack speed. Also there are other items that synergize with attack speed, mostly all the on-hit effect items like buckler (resets every 8 hits), vambrace (which also increases the damage that all the wolves do to your enemy by 6) etc. I don't have anything specific in mind that would synergize with wolfsbane though, so I have to wait for your suggestions.

Is giving brawlers ranged capability the best way for melee to have a chance vs ranged? Even slows and stuns seem a bit purpose defeating... What about off-hands as well as main-hands having DoT passives? Stamina debuffs?

It's all about distance closers Seems like the meta has always been teetering back and forth between ranged+Siphon rushes, and melee rushes, depending on which one was last nerfed. I hope either a tight balance is achieved, or ranged ends up allocated as a secondary weapon, best suited for special circumstances.
