Is there anything that extends the duration of Affliction for example, besides the guppy fish?

Yes, the leather coat extends spell durations by 20% (same as guppy, I believe).

Ah. Is that a fairly recent effect of Leather Coat, or did it always do that?

It was added quite some time ago, back in the days of old KT. Was on Bear Shaman´s Shroud for a short while though, if I remember correctly.
