frost needle and frost barrier are not that great vs him, and the way to go i think is having one tank with deamonward and dreadplate with arablest or other magic dmg weapon, and someone to heal him with druid scepter and witcher eye or skull and storm wizard robe or golden, and the rest should have crossbow with skull or fisher stick or other druids scepters and all golden or mage robe. You can do it solo, with afflications and venom and some armor and a shitload of forgering. Fishing in between poks witch are venom shoot and aff (he got hit and after ~11 seconds last tick of aff, so you have time to get 1-2 fishes). Also active of venom is great.

Since it seems like everyone's past the riddles at this point, I'll go ahead and give my two cents on the boss and how to understand what you should be getting into. (Disclaimer: read this entire post BEFORE you start the match you're going to be killing firebourne in, as everything I'm going to say ties together)
Perks:
Before you even get into the game, you're going to want to get some stuff done with your perks. There are a few that increase your magic damage output via certain methods which are nice but not really consequential. What you really want is the tier 3 ability right next to the beginning of the list, "Enchanting expert," which will give you a good bit of cdr on your gear actives. In addition, the tier 5 perk near the end of the list, "Marksman," is essential for this fight; it gives you an extra .5 range for free, which will put you at just above firebourne's range of 5.0 with the optimal loadout for the fight. Don't forget to also take the tier 2 perk, "Scholar," and the tier 5 perk, "Illumination," for a free 5 skill points to allocate into stats throughout the game (These are essential to basically any build so It's assumed you'll already have these selected).
Starting the game:
Why is this even a section? Because you're going to want to make sure you host your game in Fortress Warfare mode, not normal mode. When you die in fortress warfare mode you are respawned after a wait timer for free. I'm not certain that this works in solo games, but it definitely does with multiple players. This is useful if you're not confident in being able to kill firebourne without dying, but after my guide you should be able to solo him no problem without this. Still, it's nice to have as a fallback so you don't waste multiple hours of setup.
Early game / setup / paying attention to quests:
I wanted to take stuff slow as there were a few quests you need to get done before you actually fight the boss. Don't worry about trying to bring him out before 1hr, as I'm pretty certain he's just as strong no matter when you spawn him. The most efficient way to level given what you're going to need later on is to just set up a hunting station near some water on the first day and start fishing until you hit level 10. You're going to want to allocate all your points from levels 1-5 into foraging. At level 6 put 3 more points into foraging and 2 into artisan. Levels 7-10 put all your points into artisan. This should leave you with 30 foraging and 25 artisan. If you luck out and get the "Anniversary of Master Builder Lorenor," quest while you're still leveling, you should get that done right away for 5 free artisan points so that you can put 5 more points into foraging instead of artisan. In addition, with all your foraging points you can easily walk back to your hunter's lodge and basically 1 shot tame any wolf to get another free 5 foraging points if you're lucky enough to see the "Truffle Hunt," quest.
Now that your leveling has been planned out, let's get into some stuff you should be doing while leveling. First off, keep any striped lurkers and water scorpions you find while fishing for later and don't eat them. They will be very useful in the fight with firebourne. It would be best to make an outpost right next to your fishing spot and stashing them there when you get them just to make sure you don't eat any by accident. Any other fish should be used to sustain and heal you throughout the early game. Keep an eye out for what quest is currently going, never lose track of the quests. Quests you'll want to look for in particular are as follows: Truffle hunt, Master Builder(Both of the prior quests were talked over earlier in this post), Murloc Chieftain, Troll Warlord. In addition, some quests that are inconsequential in the long run but useful because they basically give you free rewards to help prepare early game are: Gladiator's Arena(Free 75 gold as you are doing this in single player), Treasure Chest(Could possibly contain an item in your build for free as well as gold and other useful things) and Fishing Expedition(Free rod that fishes faster than the tier 1 rod). Now for the quests that don't really benefit you in any way but you want out of the way anyways: Winter, Deadnight.
Alright, let's talk about these quests.
The first two have already been explained, but why would you need to kill the Murloc Chieftain and Troll Warlord? Because they give you the fragments to get your optimal offhand item. In a single player game they'll be really weak, so you can easily solo both quest bosses with your plethora of fish to sustain you, even without any gear (Keep in mind with high foraging you also have sage mode to give you an attack speed and huge regeneration boost). Kill these two bosses as soon as they spawn, and even use their drops as stand-in gear while you're preparing for firebourne.
The optional quests are pretty self explanatory with simple rewards to help you prepare, so let's get to the quests you absolutely NEED to have finished before the firebourne fight. Winter and Deadnight are both massive pains in the ass when they pop up in normal game. I managed to have the misfortune of having both pop up during my fight with firebourne. You DO NOT want to have to deal with this. Enough said.
As for all other quests, just don't do them. You can do a couple others if you really want to (even though it'll make your prep less efficient) but you'll need to make sure you leave at least 1 quest incomplete so that you don't reset the cycle and have a chance at Deadnight or Winter spawning in again.
Gearing up / optimal item build:
Considering Firebourne is only affected by magic damage, and there are very little sources of that in the game, you're definitely going to want the optimal build going in.
Main hand: Venomous Arbalest
This item is going to be a free source of constant DOT as well as occasional burst damage with the new active portion of the item that has been added.
Get it.
Off hand: Fel Fire Torch
Here's why you killed those two bosses earlier on. Make your arbalest and continue using the troll warlord's offhand before you get this item. Bring the fragments from the two bosses to a shrine to turn them into the summoning orb. Summon and kill jar'yx (you can just sit there and tank and spank him with sage mode active and you should be fine, maybe just eat some fish if he starts to deal too much dmg) and he will drop this item. The torch both gives the best magic damage of any offhand as well as providing warmth at high stacks which will be invaluable during the fight with firebourne (because it'll last you a few ingame days/nights).
Armor: Lurker's Mantle
While stormwizard's robes would be a better choice for getting more spell damage in, lurker's mantle beats it out because it's basically essential to helping you out with mechanics in this fight. If you haven't already, make sure to hotkey your first three item slots (the ones that your equipment slot into) so that you can quickly use this item and arbalest's actives.
Finalizing your loadout / inventory equipment:
Now that you've gotten all your gear and foodstuffs prepared, here's what you're going to want going into this fight.
Make sure you don't have any pets before starting the fight, as they'll only die right away and cause him to aggro onto you anyways. Go back to your outpost where you stored your striped lurkers and water scorpions. You're going to want 10 water scorpions and 5 striped lurkers, as well as 5 of the best hunger-combating fish you have that aren't water scorpions. As for the rest of your inventory, fill it with materials to make campfires. For spells, you're going to want to purchase Siphon Life, Affliction and Shadow Cloak.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|THE FIGHT|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stage one (100 - 50% hp):
This stage of the fight is fairly simple. If you've taken the correct perks you'll have just enough range to be able to sit there attacking him without actually aggroing him. However, he will still cast spells at you. While he is not aggroed on anyone, he will occasionally walk around and change positions. As you are only .5 range out of his aggro, this will basically guaranteed aggro him on you if he walks in your direction. Here's where your lurker's mantle comes in; just use it and it'll break his aggro and you can go back to shooting him. If for any reason you ever aggro him while your lurker's mantle is on cooldown (It should only have an 11 second cooldown with the enchanting expert perk) you can simply eat a striped lurker and press your hold position button to sit there invis while you wait for the cooldown to finish. Make sure to constantly apply affliction to firebourne while always keeping enough mana for a siphon life or shadow cloak if you really need to get the fuck out of dodge while lurkers is on cooldown. Always use your arbalest active whenever you can, preferably right after you've applied the poison to him for maximum damage. If you do it right the damage should be somewhere around 80-90 every time you activate it. Siphon life and sage mode will be useful methods of regenerating small damage you might take throughout the fight, as well as mana with sage mode. Only ever eat your water scorpions if you are close to death. They are basically only needed in phase 2 if you fuck up.
Firebourne has three spells he can use during this phase, but if you do it correctly you'll only ever see two of them.
Spell 1 (The multi-aoe spell): Firebourne will shoot off three large circles of meteors that explode into a storm of smaller meteors. The large strikes seem to hit for 100 damage while the small ones hit for 60. Avoid the big strikes and continue applying damage to firebourne through the small ones. The smaller strikes usually miss you once you see how the pattern of the attack works and position properly to begin with, but you can choose to dodge them if a circle lands on you. It's not entirely required though, as the 60 damage from a small meteor can be easily healed by siphon life or sage mode.
Spell 2 (The large single aoe attack): Firebourne will put a single large circle down, usually directly on top of you. Once the attack activates, it'll start continuously firing off small 60 damage explosions in the area for about 6-8 seconds. If this attack gets placed in an area where moving back out of it will cut you off from attacking firebourne for the duration, use your lurker's mantle to dodge it towards firebourne instead, and reposition outside his range on another side of him.
Spell 3 (The one you will probably never see unless you fuck up bad): If for whatever reason you happen to be sitting on firebourne while not invisible (and i mean sitting on as in you're basically right next to him in melee range), he will do an attack where he spawns a shitload of fireballs surrounding him, which will deal damage when you touch them. I'm not sure how much damage each does, as i've only been hit by it once and didn't pay attention to the damage done, but you definitely don't want to be caught inside of it if it ever happens. Regardless, it's very easy to prevent this attack from ever happening during the fight.
Stage two (50 - 0% hp || Now the real fight begins):
Stage two is more of a pain in the ass than it is difficult. You'll probably end up running out of materials for fire during this stage unless you get lucky. The majority of the reason this stage is time consuming is because of the multiple abilities firebourne uses during this phase which can basically halt your damage dealing entirely. In addition to his first three abilities, firebourne gets three more to use during this phase for a total of 6 abilities (really 5 because you'll barely ever see the 6th).
Spell 4 (Cross charge attack): Firebourne will become untargetable and appear somewhere likely not close to you at all, sprinting in a straight line and leaving a trail. After about 15 units of running he'll disappear again and start the same attack but going perpendicular to the first one. Basically, the trail afterwards looks like an X. The trail itself is harmless but being hit by firebourne's charge during this ability will deal around 90 damage and send you flying away from him. This attack is very easy to avoid and very predictable, if annoying because it prevents dealing damage to him.
Spell 5 (Illusion teleport aoe spray bullshit attack): This attack is annoying and is the reason why you'll have to keep a good eye on how you're using your lurker's mantle in the second phase. Firebourne will become momentarily untargetable and then will appear directly infront of or behind you (depending on how far you are from him, it's always the same distance away), leaving an illusion behind. This will undoubtedly aggro firebourne to you, so you'll have to use your mantle to get out. In addition, the illusion stays behind for a good 8 second and casts a few volleys of close-packed fire shard spray that deals 60 damage per shard that hits you. These continue out for a very long distance, and will likely destroy your campfires in the area if you've been making them close by to the fight. The best thing you can do is to just pop siphon life and sage mode and heal through the damage, as otherwise you're going to be really reducing the damage you can deal to him during phase 2. This is the only phase 2 ability that doesn't completely stop you from damaging him while he uses it.
Spell 6 (The "Holy shit run motherfucker" attack): Firebourne will begin to wave his arms like a madman to cast some unspeakable spell. Small, strangely designed swirly runic circles will appear around him and possibly near you, but ignore those. This means he is about to charge his detonation attack. Run like a motherfucker from him because he's about to release the biggest shit you've ever seen, and it'll do between 360 and 450 damage to you if it hits. In all honesty, this attack is extremely choreographed and easy to just walk out of if you're paying attention, but if it does end up hitting you and you aren't full hp it's very possible you'll die. Save your water scorpions for after this attack in the event it hits you, and you should be good.
End:
And that's it. Follow all this and you should have the best chance possible at beating firebourne. It's pretty easy to solo him if you just learn his attack patterns and pay attention for the whole fight. Hope this helped and enjoy the new skin.

When you're killing the firebourne, just be careful, dodge the abilities. Also when you see the orange runic circles appear, DO NOT IGNORE THEM. Stand inside of them and they will protect you from the attack. I don't feel like writing a giant guide right now but we did it in this video Firebold Part 2 (Skip to 26 miniutes) I reccomend that everybody go rolling pin and max tank gear except for one healer.

Didn't know about the little swirly circles protecting you, that'll definitely take some time off of the length of the fight and allow me to get more damage in. My build still stands though, as you can basically make yourself take no damage at all by just doing the fight properly instead of face tanking everything. The dps from my build works a lot better as well, it took the three of you just about as long as it took me to solo it and I had to deal with winter and deadnight during the fight too.

Definitely would not get it with out your huge help! The fortress mode works for single player (I died twice). The lurker's mantle is good but with good control and atention you can get to marked areas in time without it. The skin looks amazing! Thanks man. Add me BlackRa#1501. Would be great that we could play sometime. Edit. Did not need fire materials at all. the torch keeps me warm all the time and wolves dont touch me.

I did this fight with Frost Needle/Fel'fire Torch/Spellbreaker Armor, Smoked Sirloins, and a few Toxic Frogs, with Siphon Life (and Guardian Spirit if I screwed up.) I did have well over-ranged attacks with Frost Needle (I did have the Marksman perk). I don't use the extra skills perks, I find these to be in the way mostly (unless I screwed up adding points to a skill, I wonder why there's not a one-click 5point increments button.) In any case, it didn't take me very long to bring him down at all, the last about 2 minutes of the fight were irritating because he did love to do the runes thing. (I hadn't figured out there was protection.) 0doc tried swapping in Demonward for the extra pets or something, I found this to be useless, and potentially dangerous, because of the aggro, I agree that keeping out of Firebourne's Range is ideal. Solo-ing this fight seems easiest to me, and all 3 of us did it. I don't remember Yeddie's build but I'll update this post with it, it was absolutely insane.

Is it still possible to get the reward if you kill the boss because i did it and i got nothing and i don't wanna try again. And if this is maybe conected to it i was below lvl5 for the kobold tribes profile so i only had starter perks. Otherwise if someone needs help on EU feel free to ask. And to clear one thing up for people you dont need to cast any spells in the 1st part of the ritual. You need to use the Transmute scroll on a synergized wisp and have 2 trees planted inside the crater. Sorry if this ruins anything but it's about time they get to know.
EDIT: Nevermind re did the kill again ( another 2 hours :^) and got the reward unlocked.

You need to complete all 5 parts of a ritual to get 5 brothers, after that the next time you walk into the crater in the top right corner of the map he will spawn. And also Firebourn*.

I know how to get essence, soul, shard, heart of brimming... But how to get gem or tome of brimming? Idk how to get gem, but it is possible. Also when i place the fire near crater, stand beside it, and write in chat: The youngest kobolds know themselv and the forest! it does nothing, no book.

( without the '' of course ). And then DON'T WALK EVEN CLOSE TO THE CRATER IF YOU ARE NOT FULLY STORED ON FOOD in atleast 4 storage outposts ( I recomend fish mostly scorps and cavefish ). For the build just add me on Battle.net if you are on EU. Battle.net tag: jancek2002#2975 And yes before you ask I am 14.

You don't really need to be near the crater for any of quest rituals. Where you are on the map has no effect on whether or not you get the designated brothers. Also you don't actually have to do the rituals in order either. The only reason for going to the crater is to learn what it wants you to do, and of course to summon the Firebourn. Once you've obtained the riddle it has no function other than to remind you the event is active.

Well since everyone has had...a while...now to figure out riddles, as it stands in Kobold Tribes Nature Rising the quests for fireborn are as follows: 1. Kill the mammoth in the southwest and pick up "Brimming Heart" and "Brimming Essense". 2. plant a tree, transmute it to an elder tree, and grab a cursed druid's scepter off the workbench. use the owl active on the elder tree while it's raining and cast frost armor. 3. grab a nightwisp and make it synergized with a radiant gem. transmute a stone deposit into a gold deposit, and mine it to completion. when it disappears from being empty, scan with clairvoyance. 4. make a fire, and stand in the crater with two pets at least. then type in chat the chant it says verbatim minus quotation marks. 5. good luck! only spell damage hurts him and watch out for his spells! he drops an item that makes every hit a crit (rogues dream!) and lets you unlock the firebold skin. Best wishes to all! -MrSpectre
